June 28th, 2014 - Hubbard Competes in 8th Annual Firecracker 100
1Austin Hubbard competed in the opening round of the 8th Annual Firecracker 100 on Thursday evening in his #11 Hubbard Motorsports/Mastersbilt by Huey/Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model.

Fifty-five entries registered for battle, and a heat race win would earn Austin a spot in the redraw for the 30 lap, $6,000-to-win preliminary feature. After receiving the fifth starting spot, he went on to amongst the top ten early on in the main event before slipping to a fourteenth place finish in the final rundown.

In Friday's $6,000-to-win program Austin fell one spot short of locking into the feature via heat race action, sending him to a b-main. He later claimed the win in his b-main, earning him the 20th starting spot on the feature grid. During the course of the 30 lap finale, Hubbard advanced eleven positions en route to a ninth place finish.

On Saturday evening the $30,000-to-win finale was contested, and via his performance in preliminary action Hubbard started third in the second heat race, but a fourth place finish would leave him just short of locking into the 100 lap feature. As a result he had to run a b-main, where a second place finish earned him the 22nd starting spot on the grid. After a two-hour rain delay, Austin would ultimately retire from the main event just before the halfway point to a 22nd place finish in the final rundown.

June 2nd, 2014 - Austin Hubbard Competes in Appalachian Mountain Speedweek
1Austin Hubbard competed in the opening round of the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek (AMS) Series on Friday night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pennsylvania). Forty-three entries were on hand for the $4,000-to-win race, and Hubbard locked into main event via a third place finish in heat race action. In the main event he raced to a third place finish behind race winner, Tim McCreadie, and Tim Fuller. Vic Coffey and Mike Lupfer rounded out the top five finishers.

Saturday night took the team to Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Maryland) for the second round of the AMS, which also posted a $4,000 top prize, and once again saw forty-three entries for battle. Hubbard ultimately finished eighteenth in the final rundown.

1The tour rolled into Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pennsylvania) on Sunday evening. With thirty-seven cars entered it would prove to be an exceptional night for the team. Austin qualified for the front row of the $4,000-to-win finale and led all 40 laps en route to his first victory of 2014 over Vic Coffey, Jeff Rine, Jason Covert, and Rick Eckert. (B. Lenhart Photo)
