February 24th, 2017 - Austin Hubbard Heads to Volusia for DIRTcar Nationals
1After taking Monday off to do some maintenance on his car, Austin Hubbard returned to action on Tuesday at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) for the 46th annual UMP DIRTcar Nationals. With 48 Super Late Models on hand, Hubbard followed up the fastest time overall in his qualifying group with the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat. Rolling off 14th for the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Hubbard fell one position in the 30-lapper registering a 15th place finish.

1With persistent rain in the area cancelling both Wednesday and Thursday night’s events, Austin Hubbard was one of 48 cars signed back in at Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Friday for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sanctioned contest. Starting on the fourth row of his heat, Hubbard logged a 6th place finish giving him one final shot at the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a B-Main appearance. Pulling off on the very first lap, Hubbard retired an 8th place outing.

February 19th, 2017 - Austin Lands Podium Finish in Second Night at East Bay
1 On Monday Austin Hubbard returned to action at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) for the opening night of the Wrisco Winternationals. In a field of 44 cars for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned program, Hubbard started the night off by posting the fastest time overall in qualifying. Transferring the Top 4 out of the heats, Austin landed a runner-up finish behind Doug Drown earning him the 6th-starting spot for the $5,000-to-win opening night A-Main. Holding his position for all 25-laps, Austin Hubbard notched a 6th place finish.

1Following the 3rd fastest time in his qualifying group on Tuesday, Austin locked his spot into the A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Josh Richards. Breaking into a podium position, Hubbard advanced three spots in the 25-lapper scoring a solid 3rd place finish behind Josh Richards and Tim Dohm with Devin Moran and David Breazeale rounding out the Top 5 finishers. 1Returning on Thursday after Wednesday night’s portion was cancelled due to the weather, Austin qualified eight fastest in his group before registering a 3rd-place finish in his heat to lock into the 12th-starting spot for the feature. With $7,000 on the line, Hubbard improved three spots in the 45-lap affair to place 10th.

Celebrating his birthday on Friday, Hubbard fell one position short of a transfer position in his heat with 5th place finish. Starting on the pole of his B-Main, Austin cruised to a 12-lap consolation win locking his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main. Breaking into the Top 10, Austin Hubbard wheeled his way through the field nine positions to place 9th.

After Saturday’s finale at East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) was rained out, Hubbard headed to Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) on Sunday for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Bubby Army Winternationals. In a stout field of 44 Super Late Models, Hubbard timed in second fastest in his qualifying group but slipped back to a 6th place finish in his heat. Transferring the Top 3 out of the B-Main, Austin scored a runner-up spot behind Kyle Bronson. Rolling off 20th for the $10,000-to-win feature, Austin Hubbard improved seven positions landing a 13th place finish.

February 12th, 2017 - Top 5 Finish for Hubbard in DIRTcar Show at North Florida
1Austin Hubbard opened his 2017 racing season on Friday at Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Georgia) for the two-day Rhino Ag Super Bowl of Racing. With 51 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries in action for the season-opener, Hubbard was able to make it out for qualifying but shortly after the team discovered mechanical issues forcing him to withdrawal from the rest of the night’s events.

Returning on Saturday after getting things fixed under the hood, Hubbard came one position short of a transfer spot in his heat with a 4th place finish. Needing a 2nd place finish or better to make the $12,000-to-win finale, Austin stormed to a consolation win locking his spot in the main event. Starting in 19th, Austin Hubbard dropped two positions in the 60-lapper registering a 21st place outing.

1Closing out his first weekend behind the wheel of the Mid-Coastal Siding #11 Super Late Model, Austin stopped at North Florida Speedway (Lake City, Florida) on Sunday for the UMP DIRTcar sanctioned contest. In a field of 20 Super Late Models, Hubbard scored a 3rd place finish in his heat securing his spot into the A-Main. With $5,000 on the line, Austin Hubbard advanced five spots in the 40-lap affair posting a 4th place finish behind Tyler Erb, Kyle Bronson, and Frank Heckenast Jr. with Billy Moyer Jr coming in 5th.
