February 9, 2019 - Top 5 Finish in Speedweeks Opener at East Bay Raceway Park
1 Austin Hubbard made the trek to East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) on Monday night for the 43rd annual Wrisco Winternationals. In a stout field of 53 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Hubbard registered the tenth fastest time in his qualifying group before gaining two positions in his heat to place 2nd behind Tyler Erb. Earning the 7th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win opening night feature, Austin improved three spots reeling in a 4th place finish behind Tyler Erb, Josh Richards, and Brandon Sheppard with Don O’Neal coming in 5th. 1The following night, Hubbard came up two spots short of a transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Following a 3rd place finish in his B-Main, Austin went on to win the DirtonDirt.com Strawberry Dash securing his spot into the show. With $5,000 on the line, Austin Hubbard gained four spots to place 22nd.

Returning on Wednesday for the third round of the Wrisco Winternationals, Austin held his spot for all 10-laps of his heat to place 5th. Transferring the Top 2 out of the B-Main and into the $7,000-to-win A-Main, Hubbard fell short of a transfer spot with a 4th place finish. He was a scratch from the DirtonDirt.com Strawberry Dash.

1On Thursday night, Hubbard grabbed the 3rd and final transfer spot in his heat race positioning him 15th on the starting grid for the main event. Wheeling his way into the Top-10 early, Austin was battling for a podium finish for the majority of the 40-lapper before fading late to place 10th.

The following night, Hubbard improved five spots in his heat to place 3rd. Earning the 9th-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Austin dropped six positions logging a 15th place outing.

1Wrapping up the 43rd annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Austin came in 4th in his heat transferring him into the B-Main for another shot at the finale. Sending the Top 2, Hubbard bagged a runner-up finish behind Shanon Buckingham positioning him 20th on the starting grid. With $12,000 on the line, Austin Hubbard fell five spots to place 25th.

Steady rainfall and an unfavorable forecast axed Sunday night’s LOLMDS Speedweeks finale at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida).
