March 30, 2019 - Runner-up Finish at Port Royal Speedway
1 Austin Hubbard paced the field for the first 19 circuits on Saturday evening at Port Royal Speedway. Despite his best efforts to get his first win of the season in his Mid-Coastal Siding #11 Trinity Logistics/ AMH Bulk Transport/ Rocket XR1 Chassis/ Cornett Racing Engine Super Late Model, his bid came up just short. He crossed the line in the second position in the $3,000-to-win event.

“Well, that was pretty disappointing to not get the win after leading all those laps, but Jeff Rine did a great job,” Hubbard commented. “On the bright side, if we keep showing as much speed as we have early in the year, this is going to be a really good season for us.”

Saturday night found Austin Hubbard in action at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pennsylvania), where he was competing in a field of 31 Super Late Models. After recording a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Gene Knaub, Hubbard earned the pole position for the 30-lap, $3,000-to-win feature.

The Delaware racer led the first 19 laps before Jeff Rine stole the lead with a slider entering turn one on the 20th circuit. Hubbard would pursue Rine to the checkers, but fell short in his campaign to regain the lead. He finished second behind Rine with Dylan Yoder, Mason Zeigler, and Michael Norris rounding out the Top 5.
